Summer 2025 Tourism in Saudi Arabia Breaks Records with 32 Million Visitors

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Tourism has announced impressive results from its “Saudi Summer” program, drawing over 32 million domestic and international visitors to various destinations across the Kingdom a solid 26 percent rise from the summer of 2024.

Spending by tourists also hit record levels, totaling SR53.2 billion from both local and foreign visitors, which is up 15 percent year-over-year. The southern Asir region stood out with a massive 49 percent surge in arrivals from GCC countries compared to last summer.

These achievements highlight the hard work within Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector to grow and promote it, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030’s goal of making the Kingdom a top global tourism spot. This involves crafting unique tourism experiences, organizing international events and cultural activities, and enhancing service quality to match what visitors expect and help realize the vision’s broader objectives.

Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khateeb kicked off the program back in June at a workshop that gathered key players from the public and private sectors. Themed “Color Your Summer,” it showcased six varied destinations, from Jeddah’s coastal vibes and the Red Sea beaches to the mountain getaways in Taif, Al-Baha, and Asir. Standout features included the Esports World Cup, along with the Jeddah and Asir Seasons, which packed in plenty of activities and entertainment.
