Saudi Crown Prince Attends Esports World Cup Closing Ceremony

Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, was present at the 2025 Esports World Cup concluding ceremony in Riyadh on Sunday night. Along with other dignitaries, Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah attended the closing ceremony.

Team Falcons, the winners of the Esports World Cup, received the trophy from the Crown Prince. The Crown Prince handed the trophy to Team Falcons chairman Mossad Al-Dossary. With 5,200 points, Team Falcons won the tournament’s top prize of $7 million out of a total prize pool of over $70 million, the biggest prize pool in the history of the global esports industry. In the seven-week competition, Team Falcons secured six Top 3 finishes and two tournament titles.

With a number of live performances and the involvement of several elite athletes from around the world, including Al-Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, the ceremony was staged in front of a sizable crowd and a massive international following. The Portuguese star posed for pictures with the team championship trophy and was eager to join the winning team in celebrating.

Speaking at the event were Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation, and Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation. Reichert highlighted that in addition to having a global audience and a sizable following across electronic platforms, the Kingdom has been successful in creating a distinctive worldwide experience that blends a range of games, fierce rivalry, and alluring entertainment events.
