Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 continues to the drive major reforms in the nation’s healthcare system, aligning with its three core pillars of creating of a vibrant society a thriving economy and an ambitious homeland. According to Dr. Hisham bin Saad Al-Jadhey CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), several national initiatives are being implemented to achieve these goals, including the Health Sector Transformation Program designed to enhance healthcare accessibility and shift toward preventive care.
Speaking at the 72nd session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean in Egypt Dr. Al-Jadhey highlighted is the SFDA’s role in promoting public health through thestrategic initiatives such as reducing salt and sugar content in food products, eliminating hydrogenated fats, and ensuring the availability of essential medicines for complex diseases.
These efforts reflect Vision 2030’s wider objectives of building a sustainable and technology-driven healthcare system that emphasizes disease prevention nutrition improvement and digital transformation to ensure better health outcomes for all citizens and resident.
