RIYADH: EU ambassador to Saudi Arabia Christophe Farnaud emphasised the long and rich relationship between the EU and the Kingdom during the celebration of the Kingdom’s Founding Day. “We honour the vision, leadership, and tenacity that have made Saudi Arabia a prosperous and significant country on February 22,” Farnaud stated. “The celebration of the Kingdom’s significant national holiday, which serves as a reminder of the long-standing and enduring friendship between our two countries, is something that the European Union is proud to host,” he said.
“The two sides were acting to strengthen their relationship, which continued to mature and evolve, by working together on regional and global issues,” he said. “As we move forward in an increasingly complex world, it is more important than ever,” Farnaud said, emphasising the significance of maintaining this friendly and cooperative atmosphere, particularly in the face of global issues.
Peace, stability, and respect for one another are characteristics that both regions share, and the EU envoy emphasised the significance of the longstanding partnership. “We have decided to take part in the celebration of the founding of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is one of the most significant dates in the country’s identity,” Farnaud told Arab News.
