Saudi Money Will be Used to Build Two Hospitals in Tunisia

TUNIS — Two hospital projects in Tunisia will be financed by Saudi Arabia. Contracts to finish two local hospitals in Sbiba in the Kasserine governorate and El Jem in the Mahdia governorate, which are being financed by a loan from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), were signed Friday at the Tunisian Ministry of Health. The ceremony was attended by SFD Director General of Arab Countries Operations Eng. Bandar Al-Obaid, Saudi Ambassador to Tunisia Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Saqr, and Tunisian Health Minister Dr. Mustapha Ferjani.

Minister Ferjani expressed gratitude to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, as well as King Salman, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, for their steadfast support of Tunisia. He underlined that the Kingdom’s long-standing dedication to bolstering the Tunisian healthcare industry is being built upon by this effort.

Al-Saqr, for his part, emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to expediting the execution of cooperative development initiatives in Tunisia, funded by a number of Saudi organizations. He also underlined SFD’s dedication to seeing all of the initiatives it sponsors in Tunisia through to completion.

With soft loans totaling more than $1.23 billion, the Saudi Fund for growth has made a substantial contribution to Tunisia’s growth by financing 32 programs and projects. Through SFD, the Kingdom has also given four grants totaling more over $105 million to boost Tunisia’s key industries.
