RIYADH: At the high-level gathering “Building a Better World Together: The Future of Humanitarian Action” in New York, Dr Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, supervisor-general of the Saudi relief organisation KSrelief, took part.
The Saudi Press Agency said on Sunday that the gathering took place in conjunction with the Summit of the Future, which was a component of the 79th UN General Assembly. At this significant occasion, we seek to investigate the obstacles and prospects accessible to enhance the future of humanitarian action. We also intend to unite our endeavours and resolve to synchronise global humanitarian action with the fundamental tenets of the UN Charter and the Sustainable Development Goals,” stated Al-Rabeeah.
He talked on the extraordinary difficulties that humanitarian efforts face, such as transgressions of international law, forced migration, armed conflicts, and natural disasters, all of which call for efficient systems to lessen the strain on the system that provides humanitarian relief.
He underlined Saudi Arabia’s commitment to ongoing and future humanitarian efforts through KSrelief, which has worked with 192 humanitarian organisations to deliver over 3,000 projects in 102 countries for $7 billion since its founding in 2015.
