60th Saudi Relief Plane Lands in Egypt With Food Aid For Gaza

The 60th Saudi relief plane carrying vital humanitarian aid for Palestinians in Gaza has arrived in Egypt, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday. The aircraft landed at El Arish International Airport on Wednesday, loaded with food supplies intended for civilians in Gaza, who continue to face severe shortages amid the ongoing conflict.

Israel’s military operations have forced mass displacement in the enclave, with hunger and deprivation worsening conditions for the population. A growing number of activists, humanitarian groups, and experts have described the situation as amounting to genocide. The shipment was organized in coordination with the Saudi Ministry of Defense and the Kingdom’s mission in Egypt.

According to Palestinian health authorities, more than 62,000 people, the majority of whom are civilians, have been killed in Israel’s retaliatory campaign following the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas attack on border settlements, which left 1,200 people dead, most of them civilians.

On Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump met with advisers at the White House to discuss plans for Gaza’s postwar future. U.S. media reported that a senior Israeli official also attended the meeting. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia and Italy on Thursday issued a joint statement “unequivocally rejecting” the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza, as Israel intensified its bombardment of Gaza City. In Israel, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich urged the government to begin annexing parts of the Gaza Strip if Hamas refuses to lay down arms.
