Saudi Wildlife Center Partners with Ocean Regeneration Initiative to Safeguard Marine and Coastal Ecosystems

RIYADH: In a bid to protect marine biodiversity and the coastal environment, Saudi wildlife authorities have signed a pivotal agreement with the Wave initiative to strengthen ocean regeneration efforts. The collaboration was formalized through a memorandum of understanding between the National Center for Wildlife and the Wave initiative, signed at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh.

The partnership, represented by Saudi Ambassador to the US Princess Reema bint Bandar and National Center for Wildlife CEO Mohammed Qurban, aims to preserve Saudi Arabia’s landscape and biodiversity, safeguard surface water, restore ecological balance, and ensure a sustainable future. The initiative also aligns with global conservation efforts and explores potential joint actions.

Princess Reema emphasized the importance of the collaboration in bolstering environmental sustainability projects, particularly in marine conservation. She highlighted that the partnership reflects ongoing green initiatives in Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom’s commitment to global environmental protection.

The collaboration supports marine environmental protection schemes in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 targets. The National Center for Wildlife, established to protect wildlife populations and ecological diversity, aims to enhance sustainability, quality of life, and social and economic impact in the Kingdom through partnerships, events, and community programs. The center also supports initiatives that positively impact wildlife development, furthering the country’s conservation goals.
