AL-AHSA, Saudi Arabia: In the presence of Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, the deputy minister of transportation and logistics and acting head of the Saudi Public Transport Authority, Al-Ahsa Governor Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr officially opened the Kingdom’s first hydrogen-powered bus on Thursday.
The bus will link the cities of Dammam and Al-Ahsa, covering a total distance of 359 kilometers per day. It can carry 45 passengers and go up to 635 km on a single charge. This is a component of the intercity transportation services offered by SAPTCO ALSA for Transportation, which was awarded the Southern region’s concession.
Prince Saud attended a presentation that covered the operation of hydrogen-powered buses, their fuel supply, their safety rating, and how they help reduce carbon emissions. After that, he toured the area with the participants in the bus.The bus can carry 45 people and cover 635 kilometers on a single battery.
It will travel 359 kilometers per day to link the cities of Dammam and Al-Ahsa.
