RIYADH: The Supreme Commission for Hajj and Umrah in the Republic of Iraq took actions that led to the prosecution of over 25 businesses that were deceitfully involved in commercial Hajj operations. For this reason, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah expressed its gratitude.
In the statement, a ministry official cautioned potential pilgrims against falling for unapproved Hajj offerings being marketed this year, especially on social media.
In order to take part in the Hajj, pilgrims must get a valid Hajj visa, which is provided by the Kingdom’s authorities in cooperation with the Hajj affairs offices in each of the participating countries. For those nations without an official Hajj office, pilgrims can obtain their visa through the Nusuk Hajj platform.
According to the source, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah monitors commercials from businesses and campaigns and detects phony social media profiles purporting to sell Hajj packages at alluring pricing.
The government made it quite evident that visas for Umrah, travel, employment, family visits, transit, and other purposes do not entitle holders to the Hajj. It cautioned travelers to exercise caution and avoid falling for businesses and other entities that purport to conduct paid Hajj campaigns or other deceptive schemes.
