By 2030, the Saudi Red Sea Authority (SRSA) wants to see the Red Sea’s coastline tourism industry flourish and generate about SR85 billion in GDP. This would draw 19 million visitors, create more than 210,000 employment, and account for 30% of the Kingdom’s leisure tourism and 40% of all entertainment spending.
This was made clear in a paper called “Invest in Coastal Tourism,” which SRSA and the Ministry of Investment jointly published. The research emphasises how important seaside tourism is to achieving Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives.
According to the research, the industry helps diversify the country’s economy, draw in investments, produce new revenue streams, and create jobs. It also highlights how crucial it is to preserve the marine environment in order to ensure its sustainability for future generations.
