Saudi Arabia’s tourism ambitions are poised for global success, according to football star Cristiano Ronaldo, who expressed strong support for the Kingdom’s development plans at the TOURISE 2025 global forum held from November 11 to 13. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, the forum aims to shape the future of global tourism by promoting growth and sustainability, bringing together leaders from sectors like technology, aviation, and entertainment.
Ronaldo highlighted his strong personal commitment to Saudi Arabia’s transformation, saying, “I consider myself Saudi, and I help in different sectors.” He emphasized his belief in the Kingdom’s potential, stating, “I moved to Saudi Arabia because I believe in its capabilities, and now everyone has discovered that I was right.”
He also expressed his enthusiasm for supporting Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, sharing his admiration for key projects such as AlUla and the Red Sea Development. Reflecting on his football career, Ronaldo said he enjoys every moment and hinted retirement could come in about two years.
Praising Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Ronaldo noted the Crown Prince’s efforts to elevate Saudi Arabia on the global stage. He reaffirmed his desire to contribute to the country’s broad transformation, describing it as “a big project”, and voiced confidence in the future of Saudi sports and tourism development.
