Vice President JD Vance and senior Trump administration official Stephen Miller on Monday tied the legacy of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk to an aggressive push against left-leaning groups they accused of threatening national unity.
Vance, guest-hosting Kirk’s popular livestream after his assassination last week, amplified right-wing calls for a crackdown. At the same time, Miller vowed the federal government would mobilize every available resource” to dismantle what he described as violent leftist networks.
“With God as my witness, we are going to use every resource we have at the Department of Justice, Homeland Security and throughout this government to identify, disrupt, dismantle and destroy these networks, and we will do it in Charlie’s name,” Miller declared on air.
Speaking later at the White House, Miller said the administration is exploring legal action targeting certain nonprofit entities, alleging they organize attacks on law enforcement, spread personal information online, and provide supplies used in rioting. However, he offered no evidence to support these claims.
The comments marked the clearest signal yet of the White House’s response to Kirk’s killing, though critics warn the tragedy may be used as a pretext to suppress political opposition. Authorities are still investigating the motives of the suspected gunman, Tyler Robinson, who allegedly shot Kirk while he was addressing college students last Wednesday.
