UN Tourism Ambassador Appointed is Diriyah Co. CEO

RIYADH: Jerry Inzerillo, the CEO of Diriyah Co., a Saudi historical destination developer, has been named a UN Tourism Ambassador. He joins Placido Domingo, Georgio Armani, and Lionel Messi in a select group of individuals.

A news release stated that the appointment was announced during the global body’s inaugural sustainability week, which took place in New York from April 15 to April 19.

According to the statement, Inzerillo has been recognized for his “lifelong commitment” to using “innovative design and development strategies” that support neighborhood communities and foster the growth of unexplored tourism destinations. After the project is finished, Diriyah will be home to 100,000 people, including workers, students, residents, and tourists, and will provide a variety of cultural, entertainment, retail, hospitality, educational, and residential areas. To achieve the objectives outlined in Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia must develop tourism locations such as Diriyah to diversify its economy.

We have the honor of working in one of the fastest-growing industries in the world—tourism—which currently employs 320 million people and is expected to add another 100 million in the next ten years. However, that privilege carries a great deal of duty to ensure that our discoveries are ground-breaking, implementable, and have a significant, long-lasting influence, according to Inzerillo.
