RIYADH: Saudi Arabia stated on Friday that it rejects the proclamation of mutual recognition between Israel and Somaliland and that it fully supports Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. The leader of Somaliland celebrated the country’s first-ever official recognition on Friday as Israel inked an agreement to establish diplomatic ties and formally recognized Somaliland as a “independent and sovereign state.”
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Kingdom reaffirmed its opposition to any attempts to impose parallel entities that are at odds with Somalia’s unity. Additionally, it reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the stability of Somalia and its people as well as its support for the legitimate institutions of the Somali state.
