SEOUL — Seventy journalists from more than 60 nations participated in the 2025 Global Journalists Conference, which came to an end in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. The conference, which was organized by the Journalists Association of Korea with assistance from the Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs of South Korea, addressed important topics influencing journalism’s future, such as the effects of artificial intelligence and the media’s role in combating climate change.
As a member of the world media delegation, Okaz participated in important sessions that examined the swift impact of artificial intelligence on journalism and underlined the pressing need for new laws and moral guidelines to guarantee the proper application of these technologies. The significance of professional training and openness for journalists operating in the rapidly changing digital context was again underlined by the speakers.
The crucial role that the media plays in disseminating environmental information and educating the public about the dangers of climate change was also covered during the conference. In order to provide accurate and thorough coverage of these important problems, participants advocated for more international media collaboration.
During the closing session, Okaz journalist Abdulaziz Al-Shehri expressed gratitude to the Journalists Association of Korea for the kind invitation and the well-run conference, lauding it for bringing together the perspectives of the world’s media and providing a useful forum for discussion that advances journalism.
