RIYADH: According to the Saudi Press Agency, the General Directorate of Public Security has started three new projects to improve security operations and services provided to citizens, residents, and guests.
The directorate provided information on the projects that Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif introduced under the Quality of Life Program, one of the main initiatives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The Leading Police Stations concept seeks to outfit mobile units for events and newly developed residential neighbourhoods, as well as to build facilities with a contemporary identity and design.
The Security Equipment program is focused on installing technology in cars and electronic gates that can automatically identify people and license plates. The newest security surveillance cameras are installed to monitor neighbourhood routes.
The goal of the Ammn Platform Development program is to automate processes related to criminal investigations. The goal is to create a single data platform connected to a single call centre. This would allow for the analysis of crime data and the communication of case-related information.
