The attack on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ambassador’s residence in Sudan was denounced by Saudi Arabia.
The attack on the UAE ambassador’s residence was condemned and denounced by the Kingdom in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which the Saudi Press Agency subsequently reported. The statement further stated that the attack is against international law.
The ministry reiterated how the Kingdom opposes these transgressions as well as any kind of violence directed at ambassadors. According to the ministry statement, he underlined the necessity of upholding the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations by ensuring the safety of diplomats and respecting diplomatic missions’ property.
The residence in the capital city of Sudan, Khartoum, has sustained significant damage, according to a statement released by the UAE’s foreign ministry on Monday. In compliance with the treaties and norms that govern diplomatic relations, the ministry emphasised the significance of safeguarding diplomatic premises and the residences of embassy staff.
The statement said, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs… will submit a letter of protest against this attack by the Sudanese Armed Forces to the African Union, the United Nations, and the League of Arab States, as it represents a flagrant violation of the fundamental principle of the inviolability of diplomatic premises.”
