Tourism Ministry: During the first Half of 2024, Inbound Visitor Spending Reached SR92.6 Billion

When comparing the first half of 2024 to the same time in 2023, the Ministry of Tourism revealed on Thursday that Saudi Arabia’s inbound tourist spending increased by 8.2 percent to around SR92.6 billion.

Additionally, the Kingdom reported a surplus of almost SR41.6 billion in the travel account. According to a press release from the ministry, the rise in foreign visitors’ spending in Saudi Arabia is indicative of the industry’s notable advancements.

According to UN Tourism, Saudi Arabia led the G20 in both the number of foreign visitors and the growth rate of foreign tourism receipts in the first seven months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2019.

The data also shows how well the tourism ecosystem has done at making the industry a global leader. This accomplishment is ascribed to implementing best practices in tourism development, improving services and goods related to tourism, and working with government agencies to promote the expansion of the Kingdom’s tourism industry.

According to the statement, this accomplishment demonstrates the tourist ecosystem’s efforts to propel the industry to the forefront of the world economy and strengthen its role in the Kingdom’s economic development.
