According to a Survey, Saudi Arabia Leads the World in Financial Fraud Offences

According to the 2024 Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI), Saudi Arabia has the lowest rate of financial fraud offences globally. Naif Al-Wakid, the Director of the Saudi Public Prosecution’s Anti-Fraud Prosecution, made this revelation.

In the highest category of role-modeling, the Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) for 2024, Saudi Arabia triumphantly took the top spot in the world, according to Al-Wakid. “At a time when financial fraud offences are on the rise worldwide, Saudi Arabia achieves this coveted position. He emphasised the significance of people being aware of the techniques used by scammers and stated, “This reflects the exceptional protection enjoyed by government electronic systems.”

According to the Public Prosecution’s investigations, there have been no financial fraud crimes brought on by cyber system breaches have been recorded in the Kingdom, Al-Wakid said, while stating that all registered crimes were due to criminals exploiting victims’ data.

Al-Wakid said that when law enforcement agencies report financial fraud, financial fraud prosecutions work around the clock, every day of the week, in every part of the Kingdom. In order to guarantee the recovery of embezzled cash and stop their transfer overseas, he urged victims of fraud to notify banks and the police right once of any fraud incidents.
