RIYADH: A stunning showcase of the most recent developments in the local art scene kicked off Misk Art Week, the eighth annual event, which runs until December 10.
In order to explore new exhibitions, art fairs, markets, and educational programs, enthusiasts flocked to Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall and its nearby location. The evening was made more charming by the calming sounds of oud music.
“We do have artists that are now establishing their career in the art and design market,” Ibrahem Al-Suhaibani, executive director for marketing, communication, and user experience at Misk Art Institute, told Arab News.
As a result, we envision ourselves assisting and bridging the gap between established galleries and the artists throughout the entire value chain. We approach the topic from a variety of perspectives: from a research perspective, before and after the internet, what is the impact of technology and the media, how this is helping artists get more creative or even blocking them in any way, and how they really reveal their creativity after that blocking,” Al-Suhaibani continued.
At the space’s entryway, the Canadian art studio Iregular shows “As Water Falls,” a free-flowing digital waterfall that is always changing with alternate patterns and visuals that won’t be the same for at least a century. The piece is inspired by how active and ever-changing nature is.
