RIYADH: To commemorate World Arabic Language Day, the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language and Saudi Arabia’s permanent representation to the UN in New York will host events at UN headquarters from December 9 to 11.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, this year’s subject is “Arabic Language and AI — Advancing Innovation While Preserving Cultural Heritage.”
High-ranking diplomatic and international officials will attend the event, which Saudi Culture Minister Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan sponsors.
This is the fourth year in a row that the event has taken place, showcasing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to conserving the language’s scientific and cultural legacy as well as the academy’s efforts to promote Arabic in international organizations.
International experts will participate in a panel discussion on “Arabic Translation at the UN,” and UN employees will take a virtual course on “Arabic Translation Skills for Diplomatic Purposes.An Arabic Language Exhibition will feature artistic works and digital displays focused on the language’s beauty, history, and impact on other civilizations. It will reflect Saudi culture’s authenticity while introducing the academy’s activities and publications.
