RIYADH: Alia Kong, a 13-year-old Chinese schoolgirl, is driving a project that uses technology to convey Saudi culture to her friends in Hong Kong. The Superbund Alpha Project aims to provide an open environment for foreign students to engage with one another by allowing users to build virtual avatars in the metaverse. Students from both nations can construct a personalised area and promote their culture through a virtual workshop, which the young visionary hopes will help them form strong bonds.
In addition, as part of the assignment, she organised an immersive experience to introduce her peers to Saudi culture. Kong’s journey began five years ago, when she was eight years old and wanted to form a non-profit organisation called Kids Power Society with 25 other friends. The group aimed to teach children about diverse cultures, improve mental health, and spread optimism.
The youngster now intends to host Superbund Event Day, which will take place simultaneously online and in person in Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia. Kong emphasised the necessity of adopting developing technology, stating that Generation Alpha might visualise a preferred lifestyle via the metaverse.
