RIYADH: According to the Saudi Press Agency, the recipients of the eighth Princess Nourah Award for Women’s Excellence will be honored during a ceremony on Wednesday at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh.
Princess Fahda bint Falah Al-Hathleen, the king’s spouse, will attend the event, which is being sponsored by King Salman and will take place in the university’s Conference and Convention Center. This year, the award will honor exceptional work in six areas: the humanities, social initiatives, economic ventures, artistic endeavors, health sciences, and natural sciences.
According to the SPA, nominations for the categories, which span both academic and practical domains, were accepted last October. With a record-breaking 714 nominations from all over the Kingdom, this year’s prize marks a significant milestone and underscores the growing influence and recognition of the project.
To guarantee equity and openness, the prize last year implemented improved evaluation and selection procedures, embracing more exact and impartial standards. The award framework was also revised to take into account national priorities and international advancements, further increasing credibility and reach. The Princess Nourah Award for Women’s Excellence seeks to honor exceptional and innovative individuals while showcasing the achievements of Saudi women.
