One of the top banks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Awwal Bank (SAB), has declared that it would be taking part in the Ministry of Economy and Planning’s (MEP) Sustainability Champions Program. An important turning point in SAB’s dedication to sustainability was reached on May 28, 2025, when the formal signing ceremony was held at SAB Tower. With the signing ceremony, a strategic partnership centred on sustainability was launched. Senior SAB executives and the mentees who attended the occasion underscored the mutual dedication to promoting sustainability in important areas.
The Ministry of Economy and Planning launched the MEP Sustainability Champions Program with the goal of collaborating with businesses that exhibit leadership and a dedication to sustainable practices in order to improve sustainability performance across important sectors. As a program mentor, SAB will help and mentor its mentees on their sustainability journeys by drawing on its wealth of knowledge and resources.
SAB’s responsibilities include mentoring a chosen number of well-known companies in the MEP Sustainability Champions Program, such as City Cement Company, Rawabi Holding Company, Dallah Healthcare Company, and Middle East Paper Company. This project is the first step in a cooperative endeavour to improve sustainable standards in important industries and accomplish the objectives of Vision 2030.
