Syrian Minister’s Visit to Riyadh: A Step Toward Stronger Economic Ties

A Syrian team headed by Minister of Economy and Industry Dr. Mohammad Nidal Al-Shaar will arrive in Riyadh on Monday as part of an official visit to Saudi Arabia with the goal of enhancing commercial relations between the two nations.

A similar commitment to strengthening regional integration and fostering economic ties is reflected in the delegation, which consists of representatives from the commercial sectors of both countries.

The visit comes after the Saudi-Syrian Investment Forum, which brought together more than 100 Saudi businesses and 20 Saudi government agencies last month under the sponsorship of Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa. 47 investment agreements worth over SR24 billion ($6.4 billion) in major areas were signed at the end of the event.

The visit comes in the wake of the results of the Saudi-Syrian Investment Forum, which was hosted by Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa last month and brought together 20 Saudi government agencies and more than 100 Saudi businesses. The transactions include a wide range of sectors, including commerce, investment, healthcare, industry, tourism, infrastructure, finance, ICT, and energy.
