In a social media post, Trump referred to wind and solar energy as “THE SCAM OF THE CENTURY!” and promised not to support schemes that involved “farmers destroying solar.” “In the USA, the era of ignorance is over!” he posted on his Truth Social website.
Recent price increases for renewable energy sources, according to energy analysts, are largely due to aging infrastructure, rising demand, and more intense weather events like wildfires that are made worse by climate change.
The demand for energy-intensive data centers, which require power to run servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and cooling systems, has increased due to the quick development of cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Despite efforts by the Trump administration and legislative Republicans to limit tax credits and other incentives for EV purchases authorized under the Biden administration, the use of EVs has also increased demand.
