A delegation from the City of London, the UK capital’s historic financial hub, is set to visit Saudi Arabia this week to explore the Kingdom’s rapid advancements in infrastructure, city planning, and cultural development.
Tom Sleigh, chair of the City of London’s Planning and Transportation Committee, told Arab News that the visit will help strengthen investment ties and open new opportunities in real estate, culture, and entertainment.
“Saudi Arabia’s ambition in building modern cities and investing in culture, sport, and entertainment is truly remarkable,” Sleigh said. “That kind of ambition, supported by substantial funding, sets an inspiring example for cities worldwide, including London.”
The two-member London team will travel as part of a broader group represented by Opportunity London, an inward investment initiative promoting growth in the UK capital. The delegation includes representatives from energy companies, developers, and investment firms, reflecting a wide range of sectors interested in collaboration with Saudi Arabia.
Sleigh, who previously worked in Al-Jubail two decades ago, expressed enthusiasm about witnessing the transformation brought about by Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in Riyadh. His focus during the visit will center on two key areas: megaprojects and cultural development.
