Saudi Arabia’s newly appointed ambassador to India, Haytham bin Hassan Al-Malki, presented his diplomatic credentials to President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on Tuesday, marking the formal beginning of his tenure. The ceremony underscored the deepening ties between Riyadh and New Delhi, which continue to grow across various strategic sectors, according to a report from the Saudi Press Agency.
Al-Malki, who assumed the ambassadorial role in September, previously represented Saudi Arabia as ambassador to Mexico and served as a non-resident ambassador to Honduras. His appointment reflects Saudi Arabia’s continuing commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with India in areas including trade, energy, investment, and cultural exchange.
During their meeting, both Al-Malki and President Murmu reaffirmed the robust partnership shared by the two nations, emphasizing their mutual desire to enhance collaboration in emerging fields such as technology, renewable energy, and tourism. The new envoy expressed optimism about advancing bilateral relations and building on the strong foundation established through growing political engagement and people-to-people connections between Saudi Arabia and India.
