Trump Says Moral Judgment Is His Only Restraint on World Power

Trump Says Moral Judgment Is His Only Restraint on World Power

Washington, D.C. In an interview released on Thursday, US President Donald Trump stated that the only thing limiting his authority to issue military orders globally is his “own morality.” Days after launching a rapid operation to overthrow Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and threatening numerous other nations, including the independent territory of Greenland, Trump made remarks to The New York Times.

Yes, there is one thing. My personal ethics. My own thoughts. When asked if there were any restrictions on his worldwide authority, Trump told the newspaper, “It’s the only thing that can stop me. The Republican president went on to say that while “I do” have to follow international law, “it depends what your definition of international law is.”

The United States has consistently rejected rulings from the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the highest court of the United Nations, and is not a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC), which prosecutes war crimes.

Trump has had his own run-ins with domestic law, including two impeachments, numerous federal accusations, including conspiring to rig the 2020 election, which were subsequently dismissed when he was re-elected, and a conviction for concealing a payment of hush money to a porn star.
