Jordan-Lebanon Relations: Army Chief Holds Strategic Discussions in Beirut

LONDON: Jordan’s army leader met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Thursday at Beirut’s Presidential Palace to discuss security cooperation. Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, Jordan’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, discussed regional changes and security issues, as well as methods to contribute to regional stability.

He also met Gen. Rodolphe Haykal, the commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces. According to the Petra news agency, they discussed military cooperation and the exchange of experience and training in order to boost preparedness and efficiency.

Huneiti emphasized the close ties between Jordanian and Lebanese military establishments. According to Petra, Haykal praised the Jordan Armed Forces for their efforts to maintain regional security and stability. Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti emphasized the solid ties between Jordanian and Lebanon’s military establishments.

Huneiti reaffirmed the close ties between the two military organizations and emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration to advance the two countries’ shared interests. Haykal lauded the Jordan Armed Forces’ professionalism and high standards, emphasizing their role in promoting regional security and stability and the strength of bilateral ties.
