Impact of the Saudi–Ukraine Deal on Middle East Security Dynamics

On Friday, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense; the agreement covered the arrangements for defense purchase. Cooperative efforts in the procurement of military supplies and services are the primary emphasis of the agreement.

Khalid Al-Bayari, the Saudi assistant minister of defense for executive affairs, and Andriy Hinatov, the head of the general staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, signed the agreement in Jeddah. Both men are members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

It was claimed by the Saudi Press Agency that the agreement is centered on the cooperation between the two nations in the acquisition of military equipment and services. It also shows the efforts that the two countries are making to strengthen their collaboration in the sector.

The memorandum of understanding was signed on Friday in Jeddah by Lieutenant General Andriy Hinatov, who is the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Khalid bin Hussein Al-Bayari, who is the Assistant Minister of Defense for Executive Affairs at the Ministry of Defense Department of Saudi Arabia.
