What If the U.S. Navy Blocks Hormuz? A Global Crisis Simulation

What If the U.S. Navy Blocks Hormuz? A Global Crisis Simulation

WASHINGTON: In response to Iran’s “unyielding” unwillingness to abandon its nuclear aspirations during peace negotiations in Islamabad, President Donald Trump issued an order on Sunday for a US naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Trump acknowledged that the lengthy talks in Pakistan had gone “well” and that “most points were agreed to,” but he said Tehran had refused to make any concessions about its nuclear program.

Trump stated on his Truth Social platform, “The United States Navy, the Finest in the World, will begin the process of BLOCKADING any and all Ships trying to enter, or leave, the Strait of Hormuz, effective immediately.

Any Iranian who fires at peaceful vessels or at us will be blown to hell. The US Central Command declared that starting on Monday at 10 a.m. EDT (5:30 p.m. in Iran), it will embargo all Iranian ports.

The blockade will be “enforced impartially against vessels of all nations,” according to CENTCOM. It stated that ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz between non-Iranian ports will still be permitted to do so.

According to authorities and sources familiar with the situation, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday that Trump and his advisers were considering resuming limited military operations in Iran in addition to the Hormuz embargo as a method to break a deadlock in peace negotiations.
