RIYADH: During this week’s UN Global Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence Governance in Geneva, the Digital Cooperation Organization unveiled the DCO Ethical AI Guidebook for Policymakers. The declaration was made at a meeting organized in collaboration with the International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics and the Saudi Data and AI Authority.
The DCO’s secretary-general, Deemah Al-Yahya, brought the viewpoints of the world’s digital majority to the global conversation on inclusive AI governance by taking part in a panel discussion with leaders from the AI sector and civil society.
The architecture of the AI age is being drawn right now, and more than half of the world’s nations are not holding the pen,” stated Al-Yahya. More than just an implementation gap, we are dealing with issues of equity and who gets to set the rules for the AI era and who has to abide with them.
“We all agree that AI needs to be responsible, reliable, and inclusive; the world does not lack ideals. The ability to take action on them is what the world lacks. The DCO Ethical AI Guidebook for Policymakers exists to close that gap to give every government useful tools so that AI becomes a reliable engine of digital prosperity for everyone.
