Saudi Arabia Draws Investment Interest From 30 Portuguese Companies

LISBON: As part of a comprehensive economic package that coincides with Saudi Health Minister Fahad Al-Jalajel’s visit to Portugal, thirty Portuguese businesses and organizations are scheduled to investigate investment, expansion, and cooperation options with Saudi Arabia.

In addition to a shift in bilateral economic relations toward greater emphasis on investment, business development, and technology transfer, the project signals renewed Portuguese corporate interest in the Saudi market.

The Saudi-Portuguese Business Council’s chairman, Alwalid Albaltan, informed Al-Eqtisadiah that the visit’s schedule includes meetings with thirty Portuguese businesses and organizations as well as government, research, and innovation organizations to talk about collaboration in fields related to Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation priorities, such as healthcare, technology, pharmaceuticals, and innovation.

He noted that Portuguese interest in the Saudi market has increased significantly in recent years and explained that these meetings reflect the business council’s drive to advance economic relations beyond investigating potential toward creating long-term partnerships and investments.

A key component of the economic program is the involvement of thirty Portuguese businesses and organizations. The meetings aim to introduce businesses to Saudi Arabian opportunities and explore market entry, business establishment, and collaboration with Saudi companies and investors.
