JEDDAH: Building on agri-food exports to Saudi Arabia that reached SR2.2 billion ($587 million) in the first 11 months of 2025, over 37 Italian businesses attended The Saudifood Show 2026 in Jeddah. Twenty firms participated in Saudifood Manufacturing 2026, showcasing food processing and packaging technology, while seventeen companies displayed food and beverage items at the Jeddah Superdome.
Italy has positioned itself as a supplier of both food items and industrial skills, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s aim to grow its food manufacturing industry under Vision 2030. Italy’s participation in the Saudifood Show represents an important opportunity to strengthen the already close relationship between Italy and Saudi Arabia while introducing Italian companies and their products to a wider audience in the Kingdom,” stated Marco Bocchi, general consul of Italy in Jeddah, to Arab News.
Strong cultural ties aided the expanding business relationship, according to Bocchi, who took over the position two months ago. I have been particularly impressed by the similarities between our two cultures and the warmth of the relationships between our people,” he continued. These strong interpersonal and cultural ties offer a great starting point for broader economic collaboration.
