U.S. Freezes Microsoft, Adobe, Infosys Green Card Software Over Claims of Fraud

The Trump administration started probes into nine prominent institutions Thursday and halted some green-card files by Microsoft, Adobe and big IT outsourcers, broadening a visa crackdown it claims targets fraud and American job losses.

The combined moves represent the most sweeping raid on skilled-immigrant visa programs to date, possibly shutting off a common route to permanent residency for tens of thousands of foreign computer workers and putting some of the nation’s most prestigious research colleges on notice.

The initiatives come as the administration forges tighter ties with the same tech leaders whose companies are in its sights.Microsoft is an amazing American firm, but they need to hire amazing American workers’, stated Vise President JD Vance.

The ban will also apply to Cognisant, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Wipro, HCL Technologies and Capgemini, Labour Secretary Keith Sonderling said.“We are not going to accept any new or process any pending permanent labour certification applications involving these companies,” Sonderling said. Nine colleges, including Harvard, Yale and Stanford, will be probed for what the administration called exploitation of exchange-visitors visas to drive down American salaries, Vance also said.
