Israeli Troops Make Arrests 13 Palestinians Killed in West Bank Raids; six Killed in Gaza Attack

RAMALLAH — Israeli security forces arrested at least 13 Palestinians in raids across the occupied West Bank on Thursday, according to Palestinian sources, while six Palestinians were killed and numerous more injured in Israeli attacks in Gaza.

According to the Prisoners’ Media Office and local sources, the arrests in the West Bank included three brothers. Bashar al-Qaryouti, a paramedic and anti-settlement activist, was also arrested, according to reports.

Israeli soldiers maintained searches and closures in Hebron for the seventh day in a row, closing iron gates surrounding the Old City and confiscating Palestinian homes in the Jalda and Ain Deir Baha neighbourhoods to serve as military barracks, according to local sources.

The Hebron Municipality reported Tuesday that the raids had displaced over 5,000 Palestinians, including 780 families. The offensive began on Friday, following an attack by two Palestinians that killed two Israeli troops and wounded three others. The troops eventually killed the two Palestinians.

Between Friday and Wednesday, Israeli authorities arrested 110 Palestinians, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society. Israeli forces in Salfit razed two Palestinian homes and bulldozed land in the hamlet of Deir Ballut, according to municipal spokesman Jihad Yassin.

He claimed the soldiers also demolished water pipes, citing building without a permit, and that the town had received about 100 demolition notices. Meanwhile, six Palestinians were killed and numerous more injured in separate Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, according to local reports.
