RIYADH To support its work in Ukraine, the UN World Food Programme received a $10 million donation on Tuesday from the Saudi humanitarian organization KSrelief.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Supervisor-General of KSrelief, and Cindy McCain, Executive Director of the World Food Program, signed the agreement.
As part of the project, 141,000 members of the most vulnerable groups impacted by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine will receive food assistance in the form of meals distributed to orphanages, hospitals, and centers for displaced people in Ukraine.
This is an expansion of the relief and humanitarian activities that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, has been carrying out in collaboration with specialized UN agencies to support food security in numerous countries worldwide and lessen the suffering of the affected and displaced people.
