RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and Tunisia have inked a memorandum of understanding to enhance bilateral cooperation and encourage direct investments.
The agreement, which was signed in Tunis by Tunisian Minister of Economy and Planning Samir Abdel Hafeez and Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih, focuses on exchanging laws and regulations to improve the investment climate in both nations. Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saqr, the Saudi ambassador to Tunisia, attended a meeting where the deal was reviewed. It also hopes to enhance investment opportunities. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and promoting joint ventures while addressing a number of topics of shared interest, such as industry, transportation, and logistics.
Al-Falih received a warm welcome from Tunisian President Kais Saied, during which the Saudi minister introduced King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to Tunisia’s continued development and stability.
Saied praised the Kingdom’s efforts to promote regional unity and development and complimented Saudi Arabia for its leadership role in the Arab and Islamic worlds. He said that the MoU acted as a catalyst for cooperative development projects and that the pact was a major step toward deepening economic connections between the two nations.
