According to the Qatar News Agency, the country has passed a new law nationalizing jobs in the private sector and guaranteeing job stability for its citizens.
The ordinance, which Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, the Emir of Qatar, issued on September 1, seeks to give Qataris a stable workplace. For the purpose of work nationalization, it requires the creation of standard employment contract templates, which will be obligatory on businesses governed by the law’s provisions.
The decision is in line with the nation’s National Vision 2030 objective, which is to give Qatari nationals access to work and training opportunities.
The Third National Development Strategy, which intends to make the nation’s labor market more productive by emphasizing high-skilled jobs, is likewise supported by the law.
The plan is to move the nation into the next phase of growth by diversifying its economy, fostering an atmosphere that is conducive to investment and enterprise, and increasing the proportion of Qataris employed in the private sector.
According to Qatar’s Ministry of job, as quoted by QNA, the main goal of the law is to make the job market more appealing to the country’s workforce.
