According to a Saudi Press Agency story on Friday, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center gave away 25,000 bread packages to families in need in Lebanon.
The food kits benefited 62,500 people from 12,500 families and were distributed to Syrian and Palestinian groups residing in northern Lebanon.
The assistance is a part of Saudi Arabia’s initiative to help low-income families both locally and abroad.
Following the 2011 civil conflict, over 100,000 Syrians fled to neighboring Lebanon, where more than 90% of Syrian households live in poverty.
The influx of refugees into Lebanon has heightened social unrest at a time when the nation is trying to deal with an ongoing financial crisis and a brewing conflict with Israel on its southern border.
According to the SPA on Friday, KSrelief also sent 25 tons of dates to each of Kyrgyzstan and Montenegro.
