Al-Jasser: One Million Passengers will be able to go Through Riyadh Metro Every Day

According to Minister of Transportation and Logistics Saleh Al-Jasser, the first phase of the Riyadh Metro is expected to carry one million passengers daily.

Safeguarding the Two Holy Mosques On Wednesday, King Salman officially opened the Riyadh Metro project, marking an important turning point in Saudi Arabia’s public transportation system.

Al-Jasser stressed that the project’s debut demonstrates the king’s visionary leadership during his time as chairman of the High Commission for the Development of Riyadh.

After the official inauguration, Al-Jasser posted a statement on his X account: “The ground-breaking project, which was developed simultaneously to the highest technical standards and is considered the largest and most advanced transportation initiative globally, marks a new chapter in Saudi Arabia’s transport history.”

The minister emphasized that the Riyadh Metro is a transformative milestone for the Kingdom. He claimed that the start of this massive national project marked a major advancement in infrastructure development, increasing social, economic, and developmental mobility while enabling quick travel between locations.
