For I'tikaf, 4,000 Worshippers From 120 Countries Gather at the Prophet's Mosque

MADINAH: During the final ten nights of Ramadan, 4,000 men and women from 120 different countries gathered at the Prophet’s Mosque to participate in I’tikaf, or staying in a mosque for the sake of worship.

When worshippers arrived, they were shown to their assigned locations: the northeastern rooftop part for ladies, which was entered through doors 24 and 25A, and the western rooftop section for men, which was reached by staircases No. 6 and 10.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque started offering services right away to make worship more convenient and comfortable.

Among the services offered were a specialized help desk for worshippers, safe lockers for personal possessions, medical clinics, first aid, assistance with language translation, religious instruction, and complete meal arrangements for iftar, dinner, and sahoor.

Every worshipper also received a personal care kit and a bracelet to allow for simple mobility, access to designated places, and seamless service delivery. Additionally, there were mobile charging stations accessible.
