The event featured live performances and visual presentations that captured the essence of artistic exchange and reflected the growing collaboration between France and Saudi Arabia. During the evening, the French Consulate in Jeddah announced the launch of a new community for former artists-in-residence at the Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris. The initiative is supported by Saudi artists Zahra Bundakji and Danah Qari. Among the Saudi participants were Joud Fahmy, Zahiyah Al-Raddadi, Bricklab, and Nour Gary.
French Consul General in Jeddah, Mohamed Nehad, said that many Saudi artists in attendance had previously taken part in France’s residency program. He described it as a “startup cocoon” that helps artists acquire new tools, connect globally, and refine their creative skills.
“Events like this are vital to reconnect with these artists, showcase their work, and strengthen cultural ties, he said. “France has always sought to bring its artists together with local talent, blending French and Saudi creativity to create something meaningful that reflects both cultures. He added that Saudi Arabia’s art scene is youthful and full of energy, saying that the artists’ creativity continuously inspires and revitalizes the cultural exchange between the two nations.
