Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, stated on Wednesday that if the group continues to kill people in Lebanon, it will strike new targets in Israel. He pointed out that the number of civilian deaths in Lebanon has increased recently.
According to official media and security sources, Israeli strikes in Lebanon on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of five people, all of whom were Syrian and included three children. The previous day, at least three civilians from Lebanon perished.
“Carrying on hitting civilians will force the Resistance to fire missiles at areas that they haven’t attacked before,” Nasrallah declared during a broadcast speech commemorating the Shiite holiday Ashoura.
The militant organization Hezbollah, which receives support from Iran, does not recognize Israel and calls all Israeli population centers “settlements.”
Since Hezbollah’s announcement of a “support front” with Palestinians, immediately after its ally Hamas attacked southern Israeli border villages on October 7, Israel and Hezbollah have been exchanging gunfire. This led to Israel initiating a military offensive in Gaza.
Since shortly after October 7, Israel has also been targeted by forces in the region affiliated with Iran, such as the Houthis of Yemen, Shiite armed factions in Syria and Iraq, and more.
