A total of six honors were bestowed upon the Saudi Arabian national artificial intelligence team at the Asia-Pacific Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence, which was held for the first time mostly entirely by China. There were 129 students from 18 different countries who participated in the competition. One gold medal, three silver medals, and two certificates of appreciation were awarded to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In the competition, the gold medal was awarded to Qusai Emad Jadallah from Jeddah. Laith Suwaid Al-Zahrani from Riyadh, Yousef Farid Al-Khalawi from Jeddah, and Ali Ayman Al-Khabbaz from the Eastern Province each received a silver medal.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to Raed Hassan Tayeb, who hails from the Eastern Province, and Hamad Mohammed Al-Kalbani, who hails from Riyadh. The involvement of Saudi Arabia, which is being directed by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and KAUST Academy, is illustrative of the country’s increased capabilities in the field of advanced technology as well as its ongoing commitment to the development of young talent in the field of artificial intelligence.
