In the Saudi Royal Reserve, Students Plant 1,600 Trees

On Wednesday, RIYADH—The Saudi Press Agency said that the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority has finished the second stage of a school-based program designed to promote community involvement and increase environmental awareness.

Over 1,300 students in all grades participated in the initiative’s second phase, which included five school complexes where the students planted 1,600 native trees and seedlings, an increase from the first phase’s 500 participants.

The project is in keeping with the 2030 strategic targets for royal reserves and the Saudi Green Initiative, as well as the authority’s overarching objectives of augmenting vegetation cover, enlightening youth, and encouraging sustainable practices.

It aims to encourage youth to take care of the environment by providing them with volunteer opportunities and interactive projects. The National Volunteer Portal, which is connected to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, keeps track of the volunteers’ volunteer hours. According to the SPA, students will have a stronger bond with their surroundings by taking care of these plants.
