High-ranking representatives from Italy and Saudi Arabia have talked about prospects for cooperation in sophisticated manufacturing technologies and industrial innovation.
Attilio Fontana, the president of the regional government of Lombardy, met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral ties in areas vital to the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 diversification plan.
A statement from the summit stated that it focused on knowledge and innovation-driven sustainable economic growth, particularly in the healthcare, energy, and food sectors, as well as cooperation in industrial sectors bolstered by sophisticated manufacturing technology.
Opportunities in developing fields, such as information technology and advanced industries, were investigated by both parties.
Following her attendance at the Saudi-Italian Business Forum, Fontana visited with Alkhorayef. There, she learned from the European business federation that its 7,000 member businesses are seeking to expand their investments in the Kingdom by concentrating on prospects that are in line with Vision 2030.
Alkhorayef stressed the value of industrial innovation, pointing out the financial benefits and competitive advantages that draw capital and propel industrial projects forward, bolstered by energy-related laws and regulations, the statement read.
