Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Friday urged the international community to take stronger action against Israel over its latest military offensive in Gaza, warning that unchecked aggression would only deepen instability in the region.
In a post on X, Safadi praised the foreign ministers of Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Slovenia, and Spain for jointly condemning Israel’s offensive and its announcement to establish a permanent presence in Gaza City. He called on other nations that support international law and human rights to take similar steps.
Safadi said Israel’s disregard for international law “cannot continue” and stressed the need for decisive measures to end the worsening hunger crisis in Gaza, where aid deliveries remain heavily restricted. He also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who faces ongoing corruption charges, of deliberately prolonging the conflict to secure his political survival.
Netanyahu thrives on conflict,” Safadi said, describing the Israeli government’s policies as driven by a “racist, inhumane ideology that the world should not accept.Safadi accused Netanyahu of “destroying Gaza, crushing hopes for a fair peace, and igniting the entire region” to protect his political career. He added that the conflict has cost more than 1.3 million Palestinians their livelihoods, while a million people in Gaza City are facing famine.
